MP3 Player & DVD Disks

Does anyone know if the MP3 player can play mp3s on DVD disks (DVD+Rs, DVD-Rs, DVD+RW, DVD-RW)?

If so... damn you could have a butt load of music on 1 disk

I've not tried it but the media wasn't listed in the MP3 owner's manual. You can use CD-R and CD-RW discs.

You'd need a DVD drive to do that. I highly doubt that the drive in the MP3 player could read the DVD disk.

If they aren't listed on the owner's manual then I too doubt that it will play mp3's burned to DVDs. I do have an Alpine mp3 player in my other car that says it will play DVDs in the owner's manual.

I think I'm going to get the mp3 player for my 8 so I'll probably try just for $hits and giggles

I found a different solution to having a shitload of MP3s at my fingertips... a hard drive-based MP3 player installed in the car, with a 20 GB drive (for now, until I upgrade it to 80 GB or so). Try to beat that with a DVD disc

DVD's spin at a different speed than CD's, it also has data compressed differently.

Tamas is right. It's not an iPod. I just got one with a 40 GB drive and it's in my 8 right now, but the remote has been shipped off to get it installed into the ash tray housing. One of the nice things about the NEO 35 is that you can put any size 3.5" hard drive in it that you want to, and it won't even void the warrantee!!
Also, NEO has open firmwareand some pretty sharp folks are improving it almost every day. I got the voice option in mine, so when I navigate to a folder or file it says the name aloud so you don't have to look away from the road.
I mounted mine right in the centre of the trunk, directly below the Blaupunkt DVD player. I'll do some photos when I get the remote back.
