My ProClip install

My ProClip install
This was my first mod on my new 8. Figured I should try and contribute to give back in some small way. Hopefully this is helpfull to someone.
My goal was to mount my Sirius radio, Mio GPS, and whatever new devices I might get interchangably.
First I got the ProClip angled mount for the RX-8 - $29.99
The mount itself is in the perfect position. It makes it easier to use the Sirius and GPS than their previous windshield locations because i can rest my hand on the e-brake, leaving my fingers in the perfect button pushing position. Maybe I wasn't doing it right, but it was hard to get the mount in. I thought i was going to snap the front edge that goes next to the climate control between the face and side of the console. It did end up with some stress marks from bending. I think it's in right, it stays stable.
In addition to that I got the Move Clip Kit - $13.99
This was the cheapest solution. Originally I didn't want the move clips, because they attach to the device with sticky tape, and I wanted something removable. However pricing it out the parts I would need for the optimal install add up to an additional $53 over what I spent. Definitely not worth it. Here is the part list for that:
$13.99 - Device mounting adapter female plate
$13.99*2 - Device Mounting Adapter Male Plate
$24.99 - 4 Prong (Richter) Vehicle Mount Adapter with Tilt Swivel
I was pissed that the company makes you buy all these pieces to do what should be really simple. The locking clips should be integrated into the mount and holders in the first place, not cost an extra $14 each. At least they provide a low cost alternative with the cheaper move clip set.
Anyway, I am very satisfied with what I got. The mount puts objects in the perfect location, very easy to use while driving. The mount itself is unobtrusive and looks great too.
