My stupid floor mat

So basically my floor mat. more specifically MY floor mat (driver side) is always moving up and coving up my gas pedal, never enough to push it down, but defiantly enough to be a huge pain in the a$$. Anyone got any ideas on how to fix this? anyone else have this problem?

Yeah, even the thick all weather rubber ones should stay put if you use the attach pin/hook.

i do. every time. that's why i cant figure it out, it manages to move to the side, and get up over the pedal. and i thought the pin was supposed to prevent that. i'll try and get a picture. it's crazy and annoying.

Hmmm I don't think I have a hook on mine or at least I never really looked. lol I just occasionally pull down the floor mat towards the seat if it gets too close to the pedals.

There's a picture on this site somewhere, I remember someone else not having this and there was a picture taken for him. Try and search floor mats, or I will when I get a chance.

Here I found the picture. This is installed by the dealer and not the factory, so if you don't have one(check it's not in your glove box), then you can get one from the dealer.

i had the problem until i got all weather mats. there really should be another pin to hold the front part in place. the pin in the back is just an axis for it to spin on.

You can always stick on some hook side Velcro on the bottom of your mat to grip the carpet. Works well.

Or move it forward and tuck it under the gas pedal.

Think we have discussed the hook on here a couple times. Seems everytime we get a few people who swear they do not have the hook. Maybe it was only on 05+s or maybe it was not installed, but given to the original owner who threw them out. Who knows.

Use a zip tie and loop it through the eye hole on the floor mat then around the hook. Zip it TIGHT. If it still moves, use a longer zip tie and zip it to something else under the seat.

I have always wondered about this as well. Just went and looked and I dont have the hook, and its not in the glove box. Guess I'll stop at the dealer on the way home and get one ordered.

Yeah, I actually have the all weather mats on top of the "normal" mats and it doesn't move at all as you well know. Those all weather ones aren't going anywhere!

looks like it slides over the post so the floor mat doesn't slide back off.

I hate to bump an old thread but I have been having trouble getting this thing ordered. Twice Mazda has sent the wrong part. Anyone have a part number for this?
