Nav System Routing Problems
Navteq is saying they are unaware of this so I'm trying to find out if anyone else is seeing issues like these....
Routing from home to major routes. Do you notice the Nav is sending down roads that you absolutely wouldn't consider because the obvious shorter route is a different way?
Do you find on backroads the nav sometimes wants you to twist and turn through the area instead of making a beeline for the major road?
Have you been on a highway during a route only to find the nav system wants you to get off the highway, travel some short distance and then get right back on the highway?
Lastly (didn't mention this to Navteq). When you put the tracer on (history of where you've been) do you get little dots placed down behind you or do you get a solid line?
Yes, I'm seeing all of these to some degree. Enough that I don't want to start logging every issue with Navteq because it's time consuming. I'm thinking they've got some general issues here...
My Streetpilot III doesn't behave like this at all...
Thanks!

I have noticed mine will try to route me through back country roads, but it's always ended up being a quicker way. I've been pretty happy with some of the shortcuts I never would have thought of.
I have the tracer option on, and I get the little dots (daughter calls them M&M's) laid down on the path I take... I've never seen a solid line.

Tracer with dots not solid lines. What do you get?
As for Navigation, some times it wants us to go down roads that are multilane but it can't tell that those roads have lights every few miles and take longer.
