Navteq are greedy bastards -- call if you paid $199 for nav update!
So after reading that people paid $149 to get maps that are less that 5 years old in their car, I called Navteq today to complain.
The first person wouldn't even give me the price of the DVD without first having my VIN (last week, they didn't ask for my VIN).
The second person I reached gave me the price, and then explained that they changed the price "on Thursday 9/15". Of course, this is the day on which I purchased mine for $199.
She claimed she was sending a message to someone to credit me back the difference, but I am skeptical.
If you were charged $199, call them to complain.
I'm now going to call and bitch to Mazda about them. Again.

This asking of the vin # is total BS.. i had to speak to several people before i got someone who didn't ask for my vin # or even know that they were selling map updates.. idiots.. seems like neither navteq nor mazda reps have a f'in clue what is going on.. each rep is quoting somethin else.
