Need help with interior LEDs
So I have been searching through different LED footwell DIYs and threads but never found exactly what i was looking for. I want to install four strips in the car 2 for the front footwells and 2 under the front seats to light up the rear floor.
I want to be able to install a switch so that i can turn them on and off whenever I want and was planning on using the front cigarette lighter as a 12v power source.

These are the lights I was thinking of using, however I dont know if they just look up to a 12v source, or if I need to get resistors. The strips say they have resistors built in. If anyone can let me know what I will need or show me a thread explaining how to do what im looking for id appreciate the help.

Those are the LEDs I use for my footwells, no resistors are needed. Just tap into your power and go. I'm thinking about adding a second set of reds for under my seats and would just run the wires under the center console. Mine are tapped into the ashtray light and come on with the lights, not a switch, so can't help you there.

Thanks for that information still so i can at least get the lights ordered and worry about making up some kind of switch later on and considering i have my whole center console and passenger seat out right now im trying to get it done as soon as possible.
Hopefully VLED's gets them back in stock soon.
It dosent seem like the will be getting them back in stock very soon. So i was wondering if anyone has tried this light strip.

Also if someone has is it just like the one from VLEDs where you can connect to it a 12v power source with no resistors?

I have not used the led bar from SuperBrightLEDs in the link you posted but I have used a similar one from them, the LB3 (http://www.superbrightleds.com/cgi-b.../specs/LB3.htm) for my footwell lights. I have two bars on both sides (so 4 total in the car) and I wired them to the door lights so they fade in and out with the rest of my interior lights. At $4 each, you cant really beat the price and they are really bright and give great light coverage.
If you want to install a switch it is very easy. Just go to an auto parts or electronics store and find a switch that you like. If it is a simple on/off switch just run one of the wires through the terminals on the switch. If the switch has a light built in, it will require both negative and positive to be run to it.
Let me know if you have any questions.
