Need help just installed factory ipod adaptor

I don’t currently own an ipod, but just installed the ipod adaptor. Before I put everything back together figured id check and make sure I can select the input. Well I can’t and was wondering if its because I don’t have an ipod connected to the cord or its just not working correctly. thanks my cars currently in pieces and I need to put it back together in a few hours.

Without the IPOD hooked up mine says NO DISC when I press the CD button.

You did disconnect the battery before you started, right? Be very careful with the power hooked up; it's very easy to short things out.

There are many helpful tips in the manual.
Why buy an IPOD adaptor if you don't own an IPOD?

EDIT:

USED? So no manual?

Search OEM IPOD and select search titles only

How do you guys load you ipod? With play lists or just songs straight up. For some reason no matter how I do I only get the first 100 or so songs.

I can do either all songs or playlists.

The display may not show more than 99... but...
Are you saying that the ipod list won't play past that point?

Yeah like EX: 1 will have five songs, then EX:2 will have 60, etc. etc.

I wrote up a guide to operation way back when I installed mine.

If you want to select a menu you hold down the cd change button (up or down) for one second or more. The number scrolls but you ignore that. When you release the button the time counter shows the menu number for a second or so before the next song starts counting.
The cd change button also is used to change the list number within the menu you selected. The list is changed if you press the button for less than one second. The only issue here is if you hit the cd button twice in one second it will change the menu instead of the list so you have to change lists slowly.
<Music menu number>
1’00” :Playlists 2’00” :Artists 3’00” :Albums
4’00” :Songs 5’00” :Genres 6’00” :Composers

The list in each menu is selected in the order programmed on your IPOD.

I tried it again this morning and it's weird. I created and synced one large playlist and when I go through, some of the (EX: 1, EX:2, etc.) only have one song on them? I know its simple, I'm missing something. Maybe after coffee I'll get it.

When switching lists, the music menu number is displayed for approximately 2 seconds in
the location where the song playback time is displayed, and then it returns to the display of
the song playback time.
<Music menu number>
1’00” :Playlists 2’00” :Artists 3’00” :Albums
4’00” :Songs 5’00” :Genres 6’00” :Composers
