Need Ur Opinion On Price Of Soundsystem

I'm looking to add subs to my bose system without replacing the headunit. I went to a local car stereo store that my friends have been too, and they offered to make me a deal. What do you guys think:
2 10" JLaudio 10w3v3
Rockford Fosgate P400-2 Amp
Custom box(looks like zenclosures box)
PEQ Punch (bass controller)
Wires (fosgate
Hi to Low (Rca input)
Labor

All of this for $720. Please let me know your opinion. And also, is the amp powerful enough to get the most out the subs? I had a friend that had the same set up done at this place, and they gave him an underpowered amp(claiming that the amp they gave him was powerful enough). Thanks

Scratch the PEQ, scratch the Hi - Lo adaptor and buy a Audio Control LC6I + bass remote. You will go way further with your system if you do this.

If I were to do that, would it cost more? And If I don't do that would the sound quality decrease. vice versa? Thanks forbidden

2nd. I loved my LC6i. Plus, when you finally get tired of the remaining Bose crap, you'll have your RCA connections right there for the 4-channel amp.

Overall, they're not totally ripping you off. The price itself is reasonable for what you listed.

Oh and the reason they're recommending low power amps is that they are afraid of scaring you off by over charging you. If they say you need the P550.2 and you're total is $920 instead, then you walk across the street and that shop says you need a different (cheaper) amp, bringing your total to $770..... which do you think the average uneducated customer is going to buy? That amp is a little small for those subs, yes. Keep the brand name the same for looks. See how much a JL 500/1 would run you. Compare it with the Rockford P500-1bd.

The Audio Control LC6i is going to make or break the system. Yes it can indeed work the other way but there are two ways to do things. The cost saving hatchet job or do it right the first time. The difference in abilities and overall enjoyment of the system far outweighs the costs to do it right.
