Talking Nice Tweets

Thought I'd post a pic of these Cerwin Vega tweets they sound great. There kind of large but I think they integrate nice in the panel. They have inline xovers and the cut is real good.

Man, you've been busy! First the spring post, now this...

Do you notice more "garbage" noise from the stock HU with these tweeters?

Yea I been busy and no signs of letting up lol. Need more mods. Like to play in my garage ya know. I did notice that every thing is crisper and if I'm listening to a mp3 burn or FM that has some blems in the audio that I hear them more clearly. If listening to a primo CD such as my gold copy Surfing With the Alien CD I'm in Audiophile heaven. I'm going to get the MP3 player soon I'm hoping that it will be a quality unit as it's made by pioneer I think.

Thanks for the post.

Can you share the model number of the Vegas and if you have the base stereo or the Bose?

How about a pic from further back? What model is it, and is it a cone tweeter? Are they not kind of directional and still pointed in front of and not at you? Slick looking install!

Stupid question of the day...applies to all of you who have upgraded separate tweeters in your installs. From the pics I have seen, these look flush. Did you have to cut into that plastic trim panel to mount it like this, or is the "flushness" an illusion. On my previous car I had Boston components, and the tweeters were in little enclosures that were angled back at the passenger compartment. The speaker enclosures were just screwed into the plastic trim and stuck out quite a bit. I like the look of these much better, but I'm leary of too much cutting and hacking into my trim.

That whole unit pops of real easy. I just used a drill powered holesaw and just like that a nice perfect hole Just need to find the right diameter for your tweeter. My tweeters are held in place by 3 drops of JB Weld on the rear of the tweeters. I didn't use the plastic cup thing as I wanted a flush look. These things are loud and I couldn't take one of these aimed at my head for long so I mounted them like stock and i'm impressed the imaging is damm near spot on. Pretty amazing. I got these after I replaced the the deck and door speakers with matched series Polk Audio 6/9 3 way and 5/7 2 way. I went with the series just below the Momo as I felt the stock deck wouldn't have enough juice to drive the Momo series properly. Anyways this was a huge step up from OEM and I couldn't hear the stock tweets anymore so I got the CV tweets at a custom shop they wired up some inline xovers very small a cap & resistor they fit behind the tweeter panel. When I got these installed and fired up my system my jaw dropped and then came the huge grin the difference was huge. The sound is very similar to a set of seperates. Then I turned to JL Audio for more Bass. See pic. I'm out of town at the moment but will post model # and a more distant pic asap. I got the base model but if I had the bose I think I'd mod it similar to this as the sound is pretty awesome. Regards and beers and all of that stuff Mark.
