No Output from HU
Can anyone help me troubleshoot my issue? I have stock non bose HU with single CD. everything still works, CDs read, Fm tunes but I have no output from the deck. i checked speaker wires and have no voltage at any off them. It just cutout while i was leaving my driveway the other day, no bumps didn't floor it, just normal left turn onto 2 lane.
I have opened the unit and started tracing the signals but loose them in the capacitors. Nothing appears damaged or burnt, not even a questionable solder connection. I'm completely baffled.
The only thing i can think off is the factory amp chip died but I don't know how to test that.

If two speaker wires touch each other or one touches any metal, the head unit will go into protection and not output any audio. And this goes for anywhere in the vehicle, not just behind the head unit. Other than that, WITH A LOAD ON THE SPEAKER WIRES, if you're not reading any AC voltage on the wires, it's toast. Either find a scrap head unit at a salvage yard/online or go aftermarket. Having it repaired probably isn't cost effective and your HVAC won't work while it's in the shop. lol
