Hi guys,

Has anyone ever tried a North American Sat-nav DVD in a UK spec car?

I'm assuming the hardware is the same although the firmware appears to be different.

Reason I'm asking is I'm moving to Ontario in the Summer and am thinking of shipping my RX-8 over...

Thoughts / comments would be welcome.

If we were to install a NA based sat /nav system in your 8 where you are currently it would work fine with these notable exceptions.

(1) the am / fm tuner would not receive your current stations.
(2) the dvd unit would not accept your dvd's as they are burned for a different zone as compared to North America.
(3) the navigation mapping is not available for these units for your part of the world.

So if you shipped the car over here, these issues listed above would no longer apply.
