Not so run-of-the-mill help...
Tried searching, tried reading through the first 4 pages of this forum's history, and it looks like all anyone talks about is their stereo/ipod/nav-to-dvd/anything media related. I'm looking for some help (and some ideas) with some non-conventional interior modifications.
Has anyone here done any kind of unique interior changes such as:
Replacing the guage cluster with a HUD
Installing a real-time individual tire pressure monitoring system
Cellphone bluetooth auto-answer that pauses/mutes your stereo
Added additional buttons to the steering wheel (ff/rw, on/off)
Replaced the shift buzzer with a *GOOD* LED warning
Replaced any analogue gauges with digitals ones (Tach, Oil, Temp, etc.)
Installed a lateral accelerometer (be nice to know how many G's you pull in a turn)
Built/Installed a MicroATX computer that doesn't eat your battery in a week
...and other such things?
If you know of any URLs or have any pictures, please post them - even if they aren't for an 8. Like I said, I'm still looking for ideas, so if you happen to have a friend that drives an SS Impala with a bunch of techno-gadgets and goodies installed, please post pics and/or put me in touch.
Thanks in advance!

Thx, blue. I guess I missed that one because of the 2 that I read over both people seemed to find their light as ineffective as the buzzer.
Come on, guys - only ONE reply in 24hours? Surely *ONE* other person here has done something non-stereo related....

From: I'm a yankee trapped in Houston!!
I was just sitting in my car a moment ago and for some reason I was struck by a random wave of creativity...
The cord on my radar detector is rediculously long, and has been bothering me since I bought the damned thing. Every time I got into the car, I had to spend a minute and half trying to untagle the sumbitch, and then another minute trying to neatly tuck it away so that it wouldn't wrap around my girlfriend's legs and be tugged out.
Then when I get out of the car, I would have to wrestle with the bastard AGAIN to get it to tuck safely away in the glove compartment.
Well - I think I found a solution!
(Yes - I know the car is dirty. That's what happens when your best friend of 9½ years goes inexplicably apshit over nothing and you're forced to live out of your car for 2 weeks. I'm detailing it as soon as it decides to stop raining every damned day...)
Plug it nicely into the center console...
...Run it underneath the screwguard in the cupholder...
...Route the wire away from the base of the handbrake...
...All the way down to the back of the center console...
...and out of the mysterious plastic circle by the glovebox, into the detector!
Make sure there's plenty of slack it to tuck behind the GPS.
Easy (and descrete) Drop 'n' Lock storage!
That's also when I noticed a mysterious gap in my sun visor.
I poked and prodded to see what function it served, but to no avail. I wanted to see how deep the hole was, so I crammed my parking pass in there...
LIKE A GLOVE!
Anyone know if that's actually what that space was intended for?

I didn't relocate the outlet in the ashtray because I didn't think I was ever going to need it. But I'm going to hook it back up again, maybe at the side of the console, just in case.
