About a month ago, my sweet 8 was broken into and some guy broke my stereo and navigation system. The stupid burglar has arrested after he broke into 7 cars in same parking lot.
Anyway, what do you guys think is the best way to spend my insurance payout? I don't like OEM navigation system but i kinda need one. I can't live without a stereo either.
Do u guys think it is good idea to get after market audio?? I only need radio and maybe mp3 connectivity..
I haven't got any money from my insurance company. What should I do? T.,T

I'd just replace it with OEM stuff. An aftermarket stereo is just going to encourage other thieves to break into your car and steal stuff. Most insurance companies will happily send you to a shop that will put all your OEM gear back in order. Progressive was awesome at getting my dash repaired after someone stole the aftermarket radio in my old Honda. Only took the shop 3 days to finish the job.
Why would you take a payout when the insurance company has to fix the car to your satisfaction if you go to their shop?

I took it to the shop next to my house and tell them my story and they helped me
to have it re-appraiser and im waiting for the answer from the company right now.
but its kindda hard to drive a car without radio and non-controlable heat..

Ah. Non-native english speaker. My apologies for being a rude American *******, I thought you were a 16 year old American who's to lazy to learn how to spell. Clearly this is not the case.
Were you to go the aftermarket route, you'd need to install a kit to get a dual din mounting point in your dash. The metra kit is the best one out there right now I believe. Then you're going to need a converter box to make it talk to the Bose amp in the trunk properly. That's the cheapest way of doing it. Otherwise you would need to get an aftermarket amp as well, and then replace your door speakers with non Bose speakers. More expensive, but it would sound better then keeping your stock speakers and amp.
