Ok, I'm at my friend's place and I'm trying to follow the DIY instructions found on this forum for doing amp installation.
I found the spot behind the washer fluid tank where they suggested drilling. However, I don't see how to fully detach the washer fluid tank. It appears to be attached from below on some sort of metal plate. I can't get access from beneath the vehicle, either.
How do you detach the washer fluid tank, and is that spot still the best place for drilling through? Taking the dash apart required for accessing the opposite side of the firewall...

Ok...progress
Ok, got washer tank out...drilled hole. Now trying to get the power cable into the cabin....non trivial.
Anyone got tips for this? It seems to be coming through somewhere up behind a huge block of white plastic in/behind the dash, not sure how to get it out!
Anyone with experience got tips on this part? The thread instructions I'm following just show a pull-rod...but I'm not certain how that will help bypass the giant white brick of plastic...

Bro.. the only tip I have is just pay a local shop like $50 bucks to do the wiring for ya. Saves ya all the headaches and then if something is wrong they have to fix it. I just had a 10" JL W7 and a JL 500.1 amp installed yesterday. Cost me about $65 extra to avoid having to sweat my *** off and waste a perfectly good day off of work.

I didn't drill no stinkin' holes. I went through a pre-existing rubber gromet, where a wire harness was already fed through (above the left foot rest). Just poked a phillips head through the rubber, then I took a length of clothes hanger with a small hook on the end and pushed it through the hole. Then I put the end of the power cable in the small hook, squeezed it shut with pliers, then pulled the power cable through the rubber gromet.
From there, I routed it high in the dashboard, using wire ties to secure it to other wires, fed it down through the center console (I had removed it), into the trunk, under the trunk carpet, and out through a tiny slit I cut next to the pre amp.
It was a pain in the ***....but it's done and works great!!.

Poke a smallhole a quarter inch from the end of the cable run a thin piece of feed wire or a clothes hanger twist the end and that should help you feed it through helps if a freind is on the other side to help pull it through.

Well we finally got it, but damn it WAS a pain in the ***. Had I known how much it was going to suck, I probably would have just paid the $50 for someone to do it.
On the upside, it worked on the first try, even my sketchy remote wiring job to the accessory outlet.

This is how I did mine back in Feb.. but it's ALOT harder when you're trying to feed a 4 gauge cable through that thick piece of rubber!
