Optima Batteries

What are the parts numbers for the optima batteries that fit the RX8? I'm about to add carpc and I already am running an aftermarket alarm, remote starter and complete sound system - so I think a battery is due.

Thanks

Our batteries are Group 35 batteries. So for a YellowTop, it would be D35 (Part Number: 8040-218) and for a Red Top it would be just 35 (Part Number: 8020-164). The yellow top has a better deep cycle ability with a better reserve capacity. The red top has better CCAs and just overall more cranking power but less Amp Hours and Reserve capacity. Since you are going to be using this more for the Audio/Electronics side, I would go with Yellow top. Either of them is much better than stock though so it really is up to you.

I'm pretty sure mine is a 35. I can double check tomorrow if you like.

Batteries Are Us says they weigh 31.7. So it is actually a bit of an improvement over the new batteries in the RX-8 (MTP-35 Interstate). The MTP-35 weighs about 37 pounds.

would it be smart to do a battery relocation to the washer bottle area with a buddy-club slimline battery? It only weighs 16lbs and is about the size of a lawnmower batter...
