Phoenix Gold Octane-R 9.0:5
I Think this is tha amp for me. it seems like I'll buy this one today, the only problem is i dont have anyone to help me hook it up haha, because I don't know anyhting about car audio. The Bose is really pissing me off so I need to do something about it soon. I posted a question about amps a few days ago, but a few people metion Phoenix gold, now im itrested in this amp. what do you guys think about this model?

It looks OK. I looked at the specs and they dont list the distortion levels..which I find a bit odd. The Signal-to-Noise ratio is quite good. The max power is not the power you want to look at. At 4 ohms, the RMS power is 4x50 for the mains. I sent you a Private message about your inquiry into that Eclipse amp I have for sale. You do realize that you cant just add this amp to your bose system right? Either you pull everything out or you need a differential line converter to get the input to your amp...nevermind that the bose speakers are standard impedences and probably wont work with any aftermarket amp (i have the full specs at home).
What is your issue with the bose system? I have a pretty picky ear in home and car audio. I find that if you turn the Bose Treble to 5 and Bass to 4, and keep the volume at 15 or higher, you get pretty good audio for factory (minus any deep bass). This system needs to played at slightly louder volumes to come alive...at lower volumes, it definitely sounds like crap. Everyone has their opinions I guess. I run B&W speakers at home, so I dont F'around with my audio. If the Bose system wasnt integrated into the dash and my nav, i would probably switch it out though...

Yeah after readin alot on the forum I know I need to get a line converter. The problem that I have with bose is, they dont let you use after market stuff if you want to improve your stereo. I feel that it lacks something, plus I really like hard hitting bass feeling lilke i'm in a club. The bose is not that bad, its just not for me. Thanks for the PM I still don't know what the hell I wanna do :p

I made a reply to someone about integration into a Bose system, make sure you read it and make sure you read my grounding sticky on my home forum as it definitely will apply to you with this amp. I can be found on here at times and on www.the12volt.com in the car audio forum. If you have concerns, there is no stupid question that I have not faced in my 18 years in the audio industry.
