Pics of PIE RCA inputs

Tried looking for 8's w/ RCA inputs that would be accessible.. couldn't find any. I figure some people ran the inputs through the center cup holder area.. but i haven't found some examples. i'm trying to get some ideas before installing my PIE... thanks in advance. :p

that looks nice.. so you converted the rca into 2.5mm? any problems? i'm thinking of attaching the pie rca input into a selector box so i can select which audio device can get the feed.. what do you think?

I ran mine to the trunk...two individual Hi-Fi rca cables...they work great and sound great

I send it to the Avelectronic box I picked up from Thew and it switches the audio for me (along with the video and the backup cam switches automatically)

but just use a basic home switcher...since easy and reliable...no power needed

Thumbs up

If you just want a 3 input stereo RCA audio switch to add in front of a PIE unit (or Overload's AUX-IN unit), check out the Soundgate AUX3. I paid about $40 for mine (~$20 less than list) after shopping around on the Internet. It has a main box about the size of the PIE box and a small, black, three-position selector switch that mounts somewhere on the dash / knee plate / kick plate. The selector switch operates relays in the main box where the audio signals are actually switched then transformer coupled to the output lines going to the PIE / RCA unit. The transformer coupling significantly reduces any chance of ground loop problems. I can't hear any noise at all in my system (HU Ver 9.55, Bose, NAV).

I ran my sat radio, iPod and Motorola Bluetooth Handsfree adapter to the AUX3 switch. I later added a 12V DPDT relay in the cable between the three position selector switch and the AUX3 box to force it to automatically switch over to the phone audio input whenever the phone is in use (actually, I physically placed the relay inside the AUX3 box, but don't tell the "warrantee police" ). I used the radio mute output wire from the handsfree phone kit to activate the relay. When I'm using the sat radio or iPod (99% of the time for me), switching to phone is 100% automatic. If I'm listening to CD/FM/AM I still hear the phone ring through the hands free kit’s original speaker then simply press the mode switch on the steering wheel (or CD button on the HU) to change to EX 1 (the rest is automatic due to the added relay).
