Please help With HID

hey all , i just installed my HID lights for my 8, but during the installation, i accidently burned a piece of rubber on the light bulb, first it started to smoke ( from the burning of the rubber ) right now , the smoke stopped , the light works property, but it left some white dried mark on the bulb. does it matter?
whats the chance it will cause the bulb to go out, if it does , is it dangous when iam driving?

I did the same when trying to install some aftermarket halogen bulbs. to be safe I went ahed and put my factory bulbs back in. I would consider replacing that bulb with a new one. or you can put the damaged bulb in anyways and see what happens. Just stick w/ the damaged bulb and see if it effects anything and if it burns out, it burns out
