Please list Plug n Play Speakers Here!

I bet there are a lot of people out there like me: I want to know which model of speakers will fit easily and neatly into the front door panels and the parcel shelf. I've done a search and found various threads on this issue scattered here and there, old and new, but wouldn't it be FAR better to have a list in a single thread, preferably with a sticky?

So ... if you have found some drivers that fit neatly into the front doors or the parcel shelves, please reply here. I'm thinking 6-inch or so mid-bass driver in the doors, tweeters in the stock locations, and small 6 x 9 or so woofers in the parcel shelf. This list is for do-it-yourselfers who don't want to construct massive subs or replace large panels, etc. In my opinion, minor modifications (new screw holes, very simple mounting brackets) should not disqualify the speakers.

I just want to know, similar to what you might find at Crutchfield (which does not have RX-8 information yet), which speakers are easy installs. I am particularly interested in small Dynaudio and Focal separates, but they look mighty deep for the doors.

Thanks for all the following submissions. Please add to this list early and often.

No two ways about it, you need to spend some time reading in this forum. I can tell you the rear speakers are 6x9's and most of this size seem to bolt right in (once you get the existing ones out, which is not easy) but the front Bose speakers are shallow 9" units, which are hard to replace one for one. Most people have put in 6 inch units in the doors, but have to make an adaptor plate to make them fit.

BUT, speaker replacements will not necessarilly help a great deal unless you also replace the mediocre Bose amps... and this complicates things further. So I said, spend some time reading.

Which is cool, Omicron. I have done some reading and when I get around to it, I think I'll supplement this thread to list some of the plugnplay speakers other people have mentioned. I just thought it would be great to get them all in one place, not just for my own benefit, but for others', too. But it may be asking for too much...
