portable dvd player possibility

I was thinking the other day about getting one of those portable dvd players with the screen built in and installing it in the 8. The way of installing it I was thinking about was to take the top piece on the dash where the nav would go and cutting it and molding a tray into it to hold the dvd player and then use the top part of the dash that was cut off as a top for the dvd player. If this was done right it would resemble the factory nav without the motorization. Does anybody have any thoughts on this. Or would it be possible to order the top piece that the nav comes in, but without anything in it and then mod that to fit the dvd player?

well I'm actually thinking about adding a screen to the ceiling...a drop down one...but they are expensive and you cant remove them (obviously)

but I heard that you can buy a portable one (lets say widescreen 10") with the feature to flip the video upside down and get a bracket that allows it to mount on the ceiling upside down and look good too

then you you use the video in and send the video feed you are already supplying from a tv tuner/xbox etc...into it...then when you want to travel on a plan you can easily dismount it and use it on the go as a dvd player w/screen

this would be my second screen in addition to the nav
