power fade

power fade
i'm trying to power a laptop in my car and am encountering some difficulties regarding power.
i'm using a 150watt power inverter plugged into my accessory socket to power the power adaptor that plugs into my laptop (65 watts).
When i first start the car, the power is fine and uses the outlet power. However, after about 9 or 10 minutes, the power seems to fade and the laptop has to run on battery power.
The only way I can restore outlet power is to turn off the engine and go to ACC. I can then restart the car and power the laptop for another 10 minutes.
Anybody have any insight into getting the socket to run consistently and not have a power fade? Will a stronger inverter do the trick?

to tell you the truth the power fluxuates dramatically with the 8 since it is a sports car...most inverters will get a spike and just reboot or shutdown. I've had that problem with 4 inverters till I got an 'intelligent' inverter....it doesn't reboot...but it has a soft power button
Really you should be hooking this inverter into the fuse box so it is seperate from interferences and such on the ACC line in the center console.
But if you have to plug it in DO NOT USE the plug in the front...that is a lighter plug it is rated at much lower amps and the fuse will blow...just use the center console if you have to.
There is more to say about this but I've got to run.
