Okay, so we did grungepups' car today. Aipex8, we did his the same as mine, to the dimmer switch. I can confirm that Yes it does switch the gauge from amber to white.
Anyway, we installed a Prosport premium 60mm oil temp gauge in the Vent pod made by blockhead8. But we copied Paimon and did it in the oil pan via an adapter from Summit racing in the oil drain pan bolt location. This is a great location because the oil is fully heat soaked there. I will be moving mine from the oil filter location to the pan when my sending unit comes from Auber (manufacturer of my oil temp gauge).
Grungepup had a great idea using high temp sheathing and routing the wires through the cross member around the from of the engine to the pan. I will be replacing my 60mm premium oil pressure gauge with a 52mm and installing a 52mm premium fuel pressure gauge tomorrow. I will have them in a dual vent pod. Anyway, Check out the pics![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)

Thanks. His temps seem pretty accurate at cruise compared to my Auber gauge, but we will see after a few days of driving. He is fairly stock with stock oil coolers. I am taking my oil temps after my single Fluidyne oil cooler on the return at the oil filter housing but I think the pan is better if you want a good idea of your overall oil temps. I also have the Mazmart oil pressure mod.

Finished product. Not sure how I feel about the way it looks. It's funny though, I see 85-90 PSI at 3500RPMs cruising which is what a stock Series I should see max. I am seeing about 130-135PSI max (RE medy OP kit).

We used DEI high temp wire sheathing and military grade shrink wrap on the connectors points. I suggest you get yourself some good thick shrink wrap and a heat gun (or lighter just be careful). the foil stuff you see is actually from DEI as well and they are for shielding spark plug wires. That part was probably not necessary but we had it laying around.

Where did you get those fancy ideas for the parts 9K ![Smilie](https://www.rx8club.com/images/smilies/smile.gif)
If you get shrink wrap for this make sure it has internal glue or it can make make things even worse, trapping water in the connectors.

Good idea, I will snag some shrink wrap and spend time this weekend sealing up those wires nicely. Hopefully I haven't done any damage. I just went and looked and it seems the gauge is working fine.

I zoom therefore I am.
you can run the wire through the duct work, but in his thread Mazsurfer had a reason that he didn't do it that way. Think it was because it's an OBDII plug and he didnt want that big of a hole... but I may be wrong.

I actually have two wires, one for each sending unit for each gauge. The power wires are hidden through the vent work but I didn't want to drill through the vent work, I don't like making permanent changes if I can avoid it.
The sending unit wires are hidden except where they go into the vent pod. But they are black so they are not that noticeable on mine.

bumping an old thread! My oil pressure gauge is acting strangely; periodically it bounces around in the 120-140 range. This usually happens in the interstate. Any ideas?
Also, I intend on purchasing a fuel pressure gauge, where does the sender go? Fuel line? Fuel pump?

If so check your ground, as a faulty one could give some whacky readings
10w-40 on an S2 (or S1 with oil press mod) could see about 120psi on highway driving, 5w-30 should sit around 90.

No, you will not "blow" anything, it is ok if the sender wires get wet.

Well since this thread is in my head again, I have an "issue" with my Wideband AFR, premium series, hopefully the PS guys have some insights.
Bought the gauge like a year ago, but only hooked it up a few months ago due to just getting my midpipe. I have 2 issues with it.
1) Once every 2-3 weeks, the gauge will just stop working. It's like one of the 2 power wires isn't hooked up. It won't turn on when I start the car, but when I turn on the switch (the one that dims the gauge), the gauge starts up without the switch effect. The only way to fix this is to unplug the wires from the back of the gauge and plug it back in. No changes at all to the rest of the wiring. Then it'll work fine for a few weeks again.
2) The stepper motor is very slow. As in it will take to the upwards of 2 seconds to go from 14 to 20 as I lift off the gas. Is that normal? That's a very slow response time. What's the response time on your full digital gauge for the same thing?
