Prosport Halo Gauges!

These just arrived in the mail today. These are the new Halo series gauges from Prosport. These are a step up from the premium series and have some cool features. Check out this youtube vid (not mine):

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MuhnNljkFTc

Here are some pics of the gauges (got the typical NA setup, water temp, oil temp and oi pressure):

Here's the water temp gauge up close (you can tell the Halo series because the smaller hash marks are justified to the outside edge of the gauge instead of the inside edge of the larger hash marks):

All the hardware:

Here's the touchpad up close. My plan is to set up a little gauge control panel in the ashtray, but I'll need to extend the wiring harness for the touchpad. Makes me a little nervous, we'll see if I follow through with that.

The gauge pod I'm getting is 60mm and the Halo series only comes in 52mm, so I got these cool adapter rings:

Size: 60.4 KB

Adapter ring fitted to gauge:

Now, I just need to receive the pod. Pdxhak and I are getting the same pod and having it shipped from Japan. It's something that hasn't been seen on the forum before, so I won't say too much more about it. It will be a surprise. If people like it, there may be a possibility of a group buy.

Some install pics:

Here are pics of my gauge control center. The touchpads aren't wired up yet, so they aren't lit. The switch where the lighter was is the night mode override for when I have my lights on during the day.

I wish I would have known these were coming out because I would have bought these over the premium gauges.

aipex: are you just going to use the touchpad to change brightness at night since the 3 colors won't let you use a day / night mode when the headlights are switched on?

Yeah, so instead of day/night changing colors like pro and premiums, it changes the dimness which you set (6 levels of brightness set for day and night independently). Color stays the same, but can easily be changed manualy with a touch of the "set" button.

I do plan on using the touchpads, but not attached directly to the side of the gauge like in the video. I may have to extend the wiring harness because I'd like to install them in the ashtray.

Looking good Aipex8. Is this your Christmas present to yourself? HaaHaa !! Love it. I want the POD to be here now (as I stomp my foot).

Are you going to cut off the upper Rad hose pipe connector as I did to mount the water temp adapter?

Cant wait for more pics. Happy New Year.

Yeah, I'm going to do the water temp adapter just like you (except I won't be replacing the hoses).

Oh, and yes, the is my Christmas present to myself!

You guys dig the felt lined ashtray insert? The double sided tape wasn't sticking to the stock plastic very well, when I would touch the touchpads they would move. I called CorkSport up and they had the JDM, felt lined one in stock so I ran over and picked it up. The touchpads stick much better to it and don't move when I touch them.

Remember that touch pad is very sensitive and only requires a light tap.
