He either has his ipod sitting in the glove box so the cables are routed there, or he did what I did years ago, and routed it there, but kept the cable going under the dash, up the center console, and in through the parking brake adjustment slot. This way I can keep my iPod in the center console and not have it bouncing around during spirited driving.

There is a way to route cables from behind the head unit to inside the glovebox when its closed. The 3.5mm audio wire then goes back out of the glovebox, behind the headunit then out by the footwell of the drivers side then is routed up around the steering column and plugged into my Galaxy S II's windshield dock.

Yep.

My phone is in its windshield dock.

Since this seems to confuse this poor guy so much I'll just take a bunch of pictures tonight.

Honestly when I first got the BT unit I didn't notice much but after switching back to a hardwire, its night and day. If audio quality is important to you I would not recommend it.

Well i dont know about anyone else but my grom box is ridiculous, the port that connects from the box to the HU would not stop falling out, i wound up winding the cord around itself and shoving the box behind the ashtray location.

I then ran the supplied 3.5mm wire under the ashtray next to the shifter, used my 3.5mm extension cable to extend the distance and ran that through the little hole by the ebrake, then sloppily made a hard right and hid it under the silver trim. I have a custom mount for my phone that i plug it into that sits next to my ashtray and i have power and the 3.5mm jack running to that location.

Clearly explain your issue to Grom and they'll replace anything in the kit that they think could be causing it. They have been AMAZING about replacing faulty parts for me.
