Questions about installing Kenwood sub

I have the pre-amped kenwood sub that is 13 inches tall in my audi right now.. and I want to install it into my 8 right when i get it... what do i have to do to make it fit..... i have been reading a lot about the fake strut bar for the spare tire.. can i just take that out? and then im good to go.. or whats the best way to make it work

Here is the sub

I actually really like the amount of power this thing gives off.. so yeah.. if possible... i'd like to get it in the 8.

The box can't be any bigger than 13" tall and 12" deep. You need 13" to put it below the rear deck and only 12" deep to fit it in the trunk opening. Some people say that you can remove the plastic around the latch for more room, but I don't think it gives you much more room.

Looking at the box specs, that box is almost 3 inches too deep. (14.6") You only have 12" to fit the box through the trunk opening. Basically...No that box will not fit.

take off the panel and the trunk latch assembly and you should get close to 14 inches of room for the opening.

Which is still not enough room for that box. It simply won't fit.

that will fit. you just have to get creative with it. i have put two different boxes bigger than that in my trunk. you just have to turn it different angles and what not, probably put it in upside down then flip it over in the trunk. just a little creativity will get it. i have had a box about 13.5 x 27 x 16 in there. if i got that in, that kenwood will have no trouble.

if it doesn't work then i will retract my statements and admit being wrong, but as long as this matter is approached by every "angle" (literally), there should be no problem.

hm... yeah i shall try that stuff out first i guess... if not.. gonna get an infiniti 10 inch with enclosure... but i'd really just like 2 keep the kenwood... soo much easier (and cheaper right now).

Oh, hell. That's what I get for not actually reading the box specs. I thought the 14.6" you were talking about was the smallest measurement. That box will fit just fine, but you will have to put it in sideways, then turn in once it's in.
