Quick question

Quick search didn't find what I was looking for. I got these neon red lights for the interior that flash with the base. They need to be hooked up to the battery, but when I hook it up by the dash ciggerette lighter it looks like wiring all over the place. Anywhere else in the 8 I can put it into without a hassle?

for anyone else thats trying to read this.. he of course means neons that flash with the BASS in music.. not the base of the neon. I had to read it several times to figure it out.

Chizz... obviously you need to be a little more sneaky about how you are running your wires.. but the cig ligter end off and run the wires behind any plastic peices you can find and then splice it in to the wires behind the cig lighter... that way you don't even see the plug and you can still use the cig lighter if you want.. If it were me I would also use a switch so you can turn the neons off when you don't want them..

Chav.....

A "good" place to tap into some power is from the glovebox light, then the neon will be controlled by the light switch.

You probably need to take the glovebox out anyway, to get the neons in.

....and yes, that little glovebox light DOES stay on all the time!

I decided I'm not gonna put them in, too much head ache, and they look kinda cheesy.

If I wanted to though, How would I go about doing that? Which plastic pieces?

under the shifter, the heated seat switches have a lights on/off voltage. so no lights during the day and lights on at night.

I put lights under my dash and seats. In the fuse panel on the driver side the top fuse is for the cig lighter, I took it out and put a spade on the hot wire of my lights and put it into the hot side of the fuse slot. (I also have a in-line fuse on the wire just in case) Then just grounded the other wire right above the fuse box. I have everything running to a music controller that I zip tied under my seat, all wires run under my carpet so you can't see any part of the set up. If you are going for easy, don't do the switch under the seat. it was a pain and rather time consuming to do. under the dash is no problem as you just pull the carpet back a little bit. good luck.
