Radio Faceplate replacement?
Hello people, I am new to the forums and new to owning an 2004 red RX8!
I love the car so far and it is certainly a great upgrade from my 1992 Mitsubishi Eclipse. I do however think that the previous owner did not treat it with the respect it deserved.
When I got the car, the stereo stopped working as well as the AC and the red LCD panel. Using some instructions I found on the forums I pulled out the radio unit and found the the right side of the faceplate was cracked internally which gave it a separation from the internal radio unit. Pushing on the faceplate allows the all of the unit to regain its function.
I read that some people have also had this problem here. It seems that the plastic part on the inside of the faceplate that holds it to the metal part is broken so the screws do not hold it in place.
So finally my question: Is there anywhere I can order a brand new factory faceplate for this radio area?
I have searched online to no avail. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
Thank you!
