RCA Outputs with a Bose System

RCA Outputs with a Bose System
Hello, I recently picked up an '04 RX-8 and I love it so far. I've ordered a new head unit and the Black high-gloss metra kit for installation. I've looked over a few posts and I understand I need to take the RCA output from the headunit and run that to the Bose Amp. Do I accomplish this by removing the speaker outputs from the head unit wiring harness(and then replacing them with the new RCA outputs), where they would hook up to the metra kit wiring harness before going to the Bose amp? If anyone has any information on it, and any pointers on making the process go as smoothly as possible I would appreciate it.
Thanks.
Thanks.

I ended up getting this all set up, to anyone who does this in the future, here is what I did.
-I bought a 25 foot RCA cable with two ends, I cut about 1 foot of RCA from each side.
-Strip the insulation from the wires on the non-connector end.
-Run 1 set of RCA's from the front to the front wires on your wiring harness(I used the metra harness that came with the install kit.)
-Run the second set to the rear
-Do not hook up the speaker wire from your head unit to the wiring harness(Metra will tell you the Bose amp will accept a higher input but in reality it should be a flat signal, not a preamp.)
Also, for those who had trouble finding the lock nut(the 10mm bolt that holds the OEM head unit in place), if you take the metal plate below the steering column off as well and look straight in(From the perspective of your door) to the space where the head unit is behind the dash, you will see it. A lot of the people I saw writing DIY's were using ratchets to get this off but if you have a socket screwdriver this will work best if it has a small handle.(Not a fat handle as you probably won't be able to fit this in there without a long shaft.)
If you have any questions just ask.

Glad you got it figured out. This was already answered in our frequently asked questions thread though.
