Is remote display needed with Valentine 1?

I'm ready to order my Valentine 1 and want to know whether it is worth getting the remote display. I like the idea of remote stealthing the main display but if I can read the main display OK without it, I would rather save the $40. What do you guys who have the V1 prefer?

I have three of them. Never used the remote display. Never felt the need. I mount them pretty high on the windshield and I don't think they are ealisy seen. JMO

The optimum location for the V1 is normally in a good line of sight anyway, so a lot of us don't need it.

You can always order it separately later on if you find that you do want it after all.

The remote display isn't needed but IMHO I think it is easier to see and operate the V1 using the remote display.

Thanks for the response guys. I ordered it without the remote for now. I figured after todays drive to the shore, I'm cruising on borrowed time. I'll probably end up getting the remote in the spring.

Speed Racer that is one sweet install. It really looks clean and even compliments the red/black interior. I'm going to use your wiring scheme so I can just add the remote later when I work up the courage to dismantle the console. Thanks for the pic.
