Removing boot trim

I'm sure there is a thread on pictures on this somewhere but I could not find any, feel free to help direct me.

I want to remove the boot trim, because it's my work car at the moment and I use my boot a lot, and I don't want to damage it and gain a little more space?

Is there much space to be gained by removing it?

any advice appreciated.

thanks.

not much space... all you do is pull the snapy-tabby things out and remove it.

okay, is there anything vulnerable that could be damaged, wires or something once it's removed?

well... I guess pretty much everything... you have the tail light wiring to worry about, The trunk release, and possibly the speakers up top.

Ohhhhhhhhhhh.

You mean the trunk.

The carpet all comes out in three pieces if I remember right. Bottom and the two sides. Like already said, this will leave a lot exposed. Your call if you're ok with that.

You know Mazda makes a cargo tray that protects the base area.

Yer thanks for the info, I'm not fused about having bare metal exposed, you will never see any scratches once it's back in.

I'm only worried about wires and other things that could be probe to damage once the boot is loaded.

Well unless you plan on carting cinder blocks around, I think you'll be fine.

Why not just lay a blanket down or something?
