Replacing front center speaker

Replacing front center speaker
I picked up a pair of 3" speakers at a bargain price. I used one for my truck and wold like to use the other one in the 06 Shinka. I have already replaced front tweeters with Focals. My question is, any particular tricks to removing the panel to gain access to the speaker?

Go over to the DIY thread and have a look in there. Its actually done out in one part step by step. You'll end up removing the whole middle compartment where the shifter is, then up the center control panels, and on from there. Its a giant pain in the *** is all it really is.

eh, it's not that hard. The most difficult part is removing the radio and all its associated connectors. one you do that, everything just kind of pops loose once the screws come out. I very carefully used a small flathead screwdriver to free the top panel. It's extremely easy to leave tool marks if you do something like that, so unless you work on taking apart plastic things for a living, i would just use your fingers. anything larger then a 3 inch speaker is going to require some sanding of the bracket there. My 3.5" speaker needed a small amount of sanding to make fit.

Thanks I was afraid I would have to take radio out. I was hoping that wasn't the case. I took it out once already for installing the Parrot Bluetooth adapter. It's not hard except for the pesky little screw! Thanks all. My speaker is 31/2 so I will need a little trimming.

My car doesnt have the bose system, but if I wanted to add a center speaker would all I need is the upper dash, I mean is the mount already under the dash or am I looking at making something custom?
