Replacment Bulbs for Decent Price (Pics and Links)

I stumbled across this website while hunting down Yellow (Not Amber) Bulbs for my Corners and front turn signals!
No Flaming Please Just trying to help So if you have any better Info please post them without Flaming. I know the Halogen bulbs suck on here but I have a decent link to a website that has the H11 Fog Bulbs. W/ different Color and Wattage options.

Bulb Types
194 - Inside Map Lights, Door Lights, Front Corner Lights, Running Lights inside Headlight Housing, License Plate, & center brake light.

1 3/16" - Dome Light (I think this is the right size correct me if I'm wrong!!!)

7440 Single Filament - Front Turn Signal, Rear Turn Signal, & Reverse Lights

7443 Dual Filament - Brake Lights

9005 High Beams

H11 Fog Lights

--Click on the Pics to link to the Bulbs Page--

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Regular 194 Bulbs!!!

LED 194 Bulbs!!!

My Choice For Map Lights, Doors, Front Running Lights, and Rear Plate are these. but it's all user Pref.

I currently have LED 194s in my maps but they only have 2 LEDs I think they are brighter than the regular stock bulbs but these ones have 4 LEDs and should Shine linke crazy. Also I got the dual LED ones for $29 when I got them so I get twice the Light for more than half the price.

I got These for my front corner lights. I got tired of the total hyper white thing and will not do stoopid colors like Purple, Blue Blue, or green and I liked yellow better than Amber. I'll change later if I hate them. I would have gotten Yellow LED 194s but I could only find Amber but these will look fine.

Other 194 Bulb Colors!!!

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Now for the Front and rear turn Signals as well as the reverse lights I was going to use 7440 but I wanted them a little brighter so I got the dual Filament 7443 and wired the top of the posts on each side together to illuminate both Filaments at the same time. Do not wire From one side of the bulb to the other. (I am not responsible for any Damage caused by you doing this as a result of reading this is your own Fault.) If you do not understand it is better for you to get the 7440 bulbs and not worry about it!!

Front Yellow Turn Signals

I used Red for the Rear Turn Signals

Then Hyper White for the Reverse bulbs!

Other Regular 7443 Bulb Colors
Other Regular 7440 Bulb Colors!!!

I chose not to use the LED 7440 because they are directional and wouldn't illuminate the whole tail-light evenly. That looks ghetto IMO. (If you decide to get the LED ones only get the 7440 LEDs for the turn signals and reverse lights because wiring across might damage something due to the Circuitry in the LED bulbs housing.) For the Brake Lights you must get the 7443 bulbs and don't do Wire mods to the Brake Lights at all. I didn't change them nor the center cos I think they look fine.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the 1 3/16" Dome Light behind the Moonroof I decided to try the LED ones But I got an extra Hyper White one to replace it with if I don't like it.

LED Lights. These are directional so make sure the LED's are pointing straight down when installing...

Regular Hyper White.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the H11 fog Lights I found this site to have decent prices and a good selection between colors and wattages.

I want to get the 80 watt bulbs beacuse the Nokya 100Watt ones will probably burn out too quickly but I don't know if the wire harness, Wiring, or Fuses will handle the 80Watt Load any opinions on this would be helpful.

I want to get the 80Watt if safe but still not sure about the color. Might just get white because I don't wanna drown out the yellow corners or turn signals.

I've seen H11 HID bulbs but they didn't include the Ballasts Wouldn't mind installing a true HID system in them so if anybody knows of good H11 HID kits let me know.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I think the High Beams are 9005 but not totally sure haven't removed them to check. The look like it through the lens tho.

Haven't found a good Price and Selection on high quality 9005 bulbs yet.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

For the Headlights I got the HID systems with the car but I thought the bulbs would be a little Whiter than that. They are blue when first Ignited but when they warm up they look like regular bulbs. I've seen HID Bulb replacments but I don't know what bulb to use or anything so any Info would be helpful for all here if they decide to get a set of bulbs that are Whiter, have a little more Arctic blue look or that S2000 Purplish look. Coz the bulb is only like $59 a pair for the true HID bulbs.

------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I didn't look at the Glove Box Light or the trunk Dome Light but I will and Update.

ditto...

I got "stealth" signal bulbs for an e-bay store...

See my pics link in my sig for shots of the effect.

http://www.stores.ebay.com/id=52184718

http://cgi.ebay.com/ws/eBayISAPI.dll...8&category=371

I had to do some slight modification to the bulb bases to make them insert all the way... and it was a tight squeeze, but they're in :p I'm sure there will be better bulbs on the market at some point, but these are the only ones I've found so far.

Oh, and I have the chromed amber 194s in my clear corners.

I was going to do a red or blue dome color but I would rather see regular light than a colored light.

in the section down Polarg has some stealth bulbs but they are the 11 series twist bulbs. Haven't found stealth in the 7440 or 7443 bulbs yet.

The Tail Light turn Signal bulbs I had a problem with too The first set I bought from a store here in town when I installed tham they looked pink so I removed them and looked for ones with Darker red glass. They almost have to look like a candy apple red to illuminate a good deep red color. the Red ones in the section above have that deep red look so I think they will look alright but don't quote me on that.

i'll chime in here:

i put red interior lighting in my previous ride and was happy to see that mazda already done some of the work for me when i got my 8.

LED vs. Incandescent

i stayed with red incandescent (aka "regular") for my dome, map and door lights so that they'd still fade in/out. (i left the vanity lights alone.)

i put hyper white LEDs in the parking, corners, front and rear turns, and rear license plate. red LED's in the tails turned out to not look good as they are aimed straight back and don't reflect off the housing at all. i did put one in the high mount tail though at it looks fine. (oh, hyper white incandescents in the reverse lights also)

also, after getting feedback from my friends, it turns out that the hyper white LED's i have in my turns are hard to see in the daylight but they look damn nice at night. i'll probably end up swapping to hyper white incandescents. if they're still too hard to see i guess i'll go with stealth ambers. though i'd REALLY rather keep the slightly bluish tint that the hyper whites give off...they're a) not safe for daytime and b) illegal (but that's never stopped me b4 )

anyone else have a problem with daytime light visibility? (it makes sense that the hyper white bulbs [LED or incandescent] are hard to see during the day due to their wavelength.)

i'll post some pics when i get a chance to take some.

one more thing...

i got mine here: http://autolumination.com/

it's one guy (his name escapes me right now) and he's very courteous. fast and reliable service.

Fog Light

Newbie question: How do I change the H11 bulb in the foglamp? Do I have to remove the front bumper? Do you think the 80w bulbs will fry the wiring harness?

you dont have to remove the bumper to install H11's
I'm not sure about the 80w however the passenger fog just get it from the side with your hand and the driver side you must undo screws from the bottom of the car and then reach up to remove it

Just got my bulbs in and installed most of them except the yellow ones. I tried them on one side and they looked like a$$ so I removed them and just installed the hyper white bulbs. The 4 LED 194 bulbs are very bright but very directional at the same time they didn't work in the corners so I installed them in the interrior door lighting.

LEDs only allow current to flow one direction LED = Light emitting Diode. Diodes allow current to flow one direction but not back through. All you need to do is turn the bulb around so the current will flow the other direction.

I'm bringing this thread back to life because I can't find the answer in a search. I replaced my front running lights with white LEDs, single bulb inverted type, and I'm not happy with the brightness. I went with the inverted because I figured that the focused would give me a pinpoint effect and not light the whole housing, but now I'm wondering if I should a) go with the single LED focused, or b) go for the 4 LED wedge bulb. What do you lighting gurus think, and will the wedge with 4 LEDs fit in that tiny housing?

Thanks, Tony.

But has anyone determined if the stock harness can handle the 80W fogs?
