RPM's Audio Link for Ipod Users - Opinions
I've done a good bit of reading regarding RPM's Audio Link interface for iPod users. It appears to be a very affordable alternative to the Neo iOn SP that can be purchaed on www.mp3yourcar.com.
There have been a lot of posts asking questions on how to install or how to operate the interface unit. However, I'm interested in hearing from those users who have been using the interface for several months now. So far, are you satisfied with your purchase?
Thanks in advance........

I installed the Audio Link after carefully reading all the instructions and still struggled at getting the unit plugged into the rear of the 8's HU. But once installed, I'm very pleased with the ability to play my iPod directly through my stereo. Shame on Mazda for making this so difficult, as many car makers now simply have a mini-jack right on the front of the dash...
The only issue I have is when you turn off the car without first turning off the iPod. The iPod will not always keep it's place, so it can be frustrating when you are looking forward to hearing the rest of your playlist, and **poof** it's gone! I suggest manually pausing the iPod, or turning it off before engine shutdown.
The other issue was: where do I put my iPod? The console is too hot and you can't see the iPod's screen, so I purchased a black universal holder from Bracketron from Circuit City and mounted it on the center air vent above the HU - it looks great and me and my passenger can both view and change the iPod's playlists. I mounted the Audio Link in my glovebox. When I'm leaving the car unnattended, I simply stash both the link and the iPod into the glovebox for safe keeping.
I think the Audio Link is a great solution without breaking the bank. Good luck in your installation!
