RX8 Automatic Leather Shifter ****. Replacement Ideads

I would like to change my black leather Automatic Shifter ****..I would like to see pics of what other members did?

I think it would be much nicer with black leather mixed with Aluminum to match the aluminum accents of the interior.

I picked up the rotary shaped AT ****...honestly, the stock **** is probably the most comfy **** for the AT period, but the rotary one finishes off the car much more nicely. Get a leather boot for it and average looker won't be able to figure out if you got an AT or MT.

I changed mine to a cf momo shift

I had to cut the shaft to make it sit lower.

at first it will sit real high
or atleast by momo did
so I got a saw and chopped a couple inches of the shaft and now it sits nice and low

so how is it secured? The shaft of the shift **** or the shaft from the tranny?

Mikeb:

Did you remove the shaft from the tranny and cut it down lower? Isn't the top part of the shaft threaded for the shift **** to attach? I'd love to lower my shift **** like 2 inches. Can this be done easily?

In the meantime, here's a picture of my red/black leather AT shift kob.

That armrest cushion--is that the one that japanparts sells? If so is the material any different from stock--I was wondering if it would be worth it to get the black one--because the chapperral (sp?) doesn't match my aftermarket tan.

DreRX8:

yes, this is the armrest console cover from J-spec 8's. I bought mine through CZ. It was pricey, but looks great and is higher quality than the non-leather console cover.

yes the top of the shaft is threaded but the momo comes with screws so you don't need the threads

i just took the stock shift off and cut a couple inches off then put the new **** on
