Satallite radio not grounded properly?
I just got the XM commander put in my rx8 where the lighter is under the stereo. (someone had a picture that they did the same thing in another thread, think it was are you sirius? or something like that) The antena is on the front of the roof... now when I drive and listen to XM I get a whistling or whining sound constantly, but only when the engine is on.. if i'm sitting there without the engine running, sounds perfect. I also noticed when I accelerate, the noise seems to get louder. Should the antena be placed further back in the car? or could I do something else to help ground it better? The engine is obviously affecting the signal.. any suggestions? has this happened to anyone else?

You are experiencing engine whine...a very common thing. You should either try running the audio and power cables away from each other. Many good car installers will run power down one side of the car and audio on the other. You can also try buying a ground loop isolator. This has nothing to do with the antenna placement.
