Satellite Radio Antenna

Does anyone here know of an alternative to the little black magnetic satellite radio antenna? I have an 06 GT and I installed a factory Sirius Satellite Radio unit, but I despise the little "button" style antenna. I've considered looking into a fin style antenna from the 09 and up because I can probably get one painted the right color, but I'm not sure I like the styling of it and I don't know if I can retro-fit it to my 06. Any input/suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

You know.... most any satellite antenna can be mounted inside the car with no ill effects.

actually, I did try mounting it in several different locations inside the car and none of them worked. I have OCD when it comes to keeping wires and things hidden, so I guess that could be part of the problem.

No metal can be between the antenna and the sky. Mine is mounted in the dash right next to the center speaker.

To test, just throw it on the dash and drive around for awhile. See your signal strength.

my apologies, I misunderstood. I thought you were talking about having it on the surface of the dash. Thank you for your input, maybe I'll give it a shot this afternoon.

Thanks again for the input, and you were correct. For some reason the OE unit did not work under the plastic, but I picked up a universal from my local retailer and it works great.
