Satellite radio question
Hey guys, i have the Sportster docking staion receiver from Sirius mounted in my car. I have it hooked up through the FM modulation. Im happy with the way it sounds but i know it could sound a little better (and nothing but the best for my baby) so if anyone can tell me how to hook it up through the PIE way please do so. Im sure i have to buy some kinda of adapter also so if you could tell me the things i need to get that would be a huge help also. Thanks alot.

Check with Thew / RX8 Garage or Overload, both forum members. There are lots of threads on the subject. You may want to do a search. From what (little) I understand, your HU must be 9.55 or greater to use the P.I.E. adapter. Overload is also working on an aux in adapter that will work with any current HU. Both should work on sat radios or ipods. I still haven't decided which route to take. The last I heard, the PIEs were on back order and the other is in development and almost finished, but not quite ready for sale.

Hmm, how do I know if my HU is 9.55 or greater. I have the bose system if that helps. Also i looked at the PIE adapter RX8 Garage has, i dont know but it seems like i might need more to it. Most of the installs i read about people hooking up their PIE had XM not SIRIUS, not sure if it makes a difference.

to check what head unit version you have: with the radio on, hold the tune button (round button on the bottom right) down while pressing preset 1. the version # will show on the display.
i got the pie adapter from thew and everything works great. you need the pie adapter and the cable to install... there's a very good write up somewhere on how to install it.
