Question Screen mounted in rear cupholder location?

Anybody done this? What are you guys thoughts on a mod of this type? I was talking with my installer and we joked about putting one back there. Obviously it would serve mainly as show purposes unless you use your RX8 like a soccar mom :p

Depends what you are going for. My original design called for a screen there to pop out up, but we found it wasn't deep enough...thus I went for two flip downs...

I'm planning on doing something along those lines for my kids- preferably something on the seat backs or folding in the center. Since I got the 8 I've been volunteering for the road trips instead of taking the SUV. I'd be interested in seeing what ideas you guys have...

hmm...if it is not deep enough then it probably would have to be a semi-permanent mounting w/fabricated piece. I'll investigate it further, not sure if I want to take the plunge to do it tho.

Also check out the pics from the DUB super series car show http://www.wreckfastclub.net/multime...o_gallery.html and also check out our other site http://slabs.wreckfastclub.net/

Appreciate that, we ultimately want to go into the non-profit sector in the capacity of mentoring youth as we get more established in our careers.

"I DO take my son soccar practice in my RX8" Good then you need some screens :D j/k

Ironically, I have a 5" screen in that position right now for use as a backup monitor. I'm experimenting with this sort of solution for an optically correct backup system. I'll post pics when I can.

Will do, sir! Pics coming this weekend.

I've temporarily uninstalled the camera and unhooked the screen, due to what the manufacturer said about startup spikes: https://www.rx8club.com/series-i-interior-audio-electronics-24/startup-electrical-surge-38189/ . I'm suddenly nervous and paranoid. I'll take a pic of the system this weekend anyway, when I do my voltage tests.
