Seat disassembly

Yesterday I was cleaning out my car and noticed the leather on the rear of the passenger seat at the top is starting to come undone or something. It is on the backing it is surrounded by the hard plastic.

The best way to describe it is in the center of the front seat on the back side where it is relatively soft.

Wondering how to disassemble the seat to fix this?

You don't want to do it, it's a real pain. Take it to the dealer.

Sounds like manufacture defect to me.... If it's obvious that it's not normal wear and tear or damage that you have inflicted, I'd raise hell.

I would but it has been 3 times now I took it their and the finally realized my motor mounts were bad. After them doing my clutch, I feel that PPF is misaligned, still they insist everything is ok.

My throwout bearing is making noise and they are saying its gear over turn noise. Apparently they think its normal for transmissions to sqeak with the car in neutral.

I would much rather do it myself.

Basically I just need to pull the padding out and get to the inside of the hard plastic to fix the area where the map pouch is on the back of the seat.

From a diagram I saw it looks like it may be 7 screws total? Just wondering if this thing is gonna be a pita to put back together or disassemble?

biggest unstatement i have seen here. I have spent 12 hours searching every RX8 and RX=7 forum to try and find instructions on how to dismantle the leather seat and nothing, found a few posts on dismantleing the cloth seat but nothing on the leather version which has a plastic shell on the rear

anyone have any idea how to dismantle the seat back rest when its leather with a plastic shell?

many thanks
