Seat install, airbag question??

He's as bad as Can
you should provide a link to what you installed. Why would you expect an after market seat ( if that is what you have) to work with the MAZDA OEM seat connectors?
EDIT: Now that I know what you have those seats do not have air bags in them. There is no reason to expect them to connect to the OEM seat connectors. Get used to the flashing Air bag light. The other air bags should work FYI.

Here's what I did. I pulled the wiring harness out of the stock seat, and left it in the car. This let me keep the seat belt switch and the seat track position sensor, so that the OEM airbag sensor was still getting the information it wanted. Then, I put a 1/2W 2 Ohm resistor in the side airbag wiring harness to fake the signal from the side air bag. This keeps the airbag light from going off, and should keep the front airbags functional the way they are supposed to be.
*Disclaimer* I am a tall person and keep my seat all the way back. From what I could tell, the seat track position sensor on the OEM seat only sends its signal when the seat is forward of a certain point. So, since mine is hooked up but not sending a signal, the front airbag should still do a full, two inflator inflation should it ever go off (as opposed to the one inflator inflation it does if it gets the signal that the driver's seat is close to the airbag). I could be wrong.
