the regular RX-8 has plastic spare rotors in the headrests reguardless of which package you get except for the Shinka.... the Shinka edition RX-8 has the polished aluminum spare rotors... like I posted before they are really expensive from the factory if you want to go that route.... just doesn't seem that worth it to me to switch from the plastic ones...

Two easier, possibly cheaper, and maybe even stupid ideas I have are; have them paint matched with the exterior(could do the same with the console trim) or have some made with *colored* CF.

Is it safe to cover the seats with seatcovers - I have put off doing it because of air bags, but to protect the leather and reduce summer heating I have always used sheep skins until this car -
Anybody know about seat covers for an 8?

had a thermostat **** replaced, they used a shiny one, so the shiny metal is out there. (looks bad now, one is shiny one is dull :sigh: )

Before you pull out the trangles set in you seat, you might want to check and see if your dealer can order a metal one, and save you a lot of expense, or get the dealer to supply the plastic one - that way you son't trash your seats until you have the fabricated replacement in hand...Just a thought....

Someone who is short enough can have their head line up with the rotor accent and if it is metal it may be uncomfortable or possibly dangerous in a crash. Also when the seat is reclined the head contact point tends to move down the seat and onto the embelm for some people. There is a thread around here of somone who had a girlfriend who's height made her head contact the emblem so he (or she) made a pad to fit in the hole for her. Maybe they are plastic for a reason?

My Girlfriend's head hits the plastic, it kinda makes me uneasy. I might make a pad for it...
