There is no possible way to make this work other than to cut the thing and I'm not about to do that, unless that is what you are suppose to do but I can't see how without ruining the whole thing.
Have you tried pulling up more towards the e-brake button. It should fit with some pulling, as we try to make it as close to flush as possible.

Let us know if you still have issues, as we do not want to have any unsatisfied customers.

Thank you again

There is no way that it can work to fit like your pictures. It's impossible, it's far to long and it has a wide curve at the bottom. Your pictures it fits snuggly around the handle and doesn't continue in either direction. Mine does, it more like an E-brake Skirt than a boot.

I'll mess with it again today but I really don't think I can make it work.

Just got mine today. Bit the bullet and ordered a new AFE Short Shifter, so when I install the Boot, I'll do the SS also.

Indeed, it seems ShiftStyle made quite a few changes since those original pictures were posted. There is a lot more stitching now, especially on the upper and lower edges which could be good but the sizing is obviously way off.
When I got my e-brake cover, I did not have the finishing stitching on the upper and lower ends, but had some extra material that I had to fold under the cover which makes it actually look closer to the OEM leather handle. I did a pretty good job on one end, but I'm not 100% happy how the lower end came out. In retrospect, if I'd do the installation today, I'd probably trim the cover a bit on the bottom end and fold it more so that it more tightly follows the groove on the e-brake lever. Sometimes I think about re-installing and fixing this, but since I used a few drops of superglue here and there to tidy up things, I'm not sure if I could take off the cover without damaging it. It doesn't bug me that much, just the perfectionist in me wants to make everything, well, as perfect as possible
https://www.rx8club.com/showpost.php...&postcount=322

Still, mine looks decent I think... however, in your case there is just way too much material.

Fitment is seemingly an issue with these items... the shift boot is the easiest to make look good, but the e-brake cover and the lid covers are much harder to install so they look flawless. There should be no need to trim anything, but it's almost inevitable. Honestly, I'm not so sure I'd buy these again, sorry...

Alright, I got mine (e-brake cover) and decided to check it against the e-brake today, and here were the results:

What I realize from the fitment is that the top is pretty good (just a little short on the top portion), but the bottom fits very weird. I didn't glue the velcro on, but I wrapped it around and fitted it to the velcro to see how it turns out. I noticed the bottom sort is long and doesn't wrap around the handle. I don't know if that was the intent (the original pictures seem like it fits perfectly), so I'll try again sometime.

I agree with Tamas that there seems to be too much material.

I saw yours, I agree, mine seems to fit better (similar to Tamas). However, I can't remove material from it (unless I re-sew it together), which still leaves the thing fitting very bad.

What I see is the top part, where it wraps around, it has too much material. However, the bottom seems to lack a bit of material. It's hard for me to describe.

I guess it might just be me as the ignorant one, but mine looks NOTHING like all of yours. The top part is wrong for starters. The 3 "lip" parts are overlapping the voodoo shift ****. Again, probably something I'm doing wrong/not putting on?

And the bottom part...I had such a bitch of a time getting it to hook on those little hooks at the bottom, and after driving a bit, 2 of them came undone. Any tricks to the trade?

I believe it's my fault, because I even spent 2 or 3 hours on the AFE Short Shifter and barely got it working \=

and did you take off the plastic ring on the old shift boot and superglued it onto the new one?

and spending 2 or 3 hours on the shortshifter is ridiculous lol
it was probably a 15 min install lol

yeah, from talking with some people, they think the plastic cage was put on wrong. When I first put it on, it wasn't working, so I had to use 100% of my strength to pull it out *it bashed my eye breaking my glasses....that's how heard it was*

*EDIT* forgot to talk about the boot hahaha.

I did nothing to the boot from the original.....was I supposed to?! D: I looked for things to take apart, but nothing moved easily. I Guess when I get a shifter in teh mail and that's it, I don't think to do anything like that lol.

The "3 lips" thing, referring to a DIY on the forums, on the stock shifter boot, if you inverse it, there's a plastic ring at the top where the shift **** rests on.

Some people don't use it at all, but I took the plastic ring off the stock shifter and re-glued it onto the ShiftStyle shifter.

For the tab things, just make sure all of them are on, otherwise they'll start to slip off due to too much slack.

At first I installed mine backwards, but flipped it around and all the slits lined up.

Hope this helps.

As for your AFE problems, sounds bad, but I wouldn't be able to tell you if you're installing it wrong or it's defective... Mine slipped right in, never had any problems with it not being able to clear the reverse stopper.
