What we're some of the issues? I would like to know in case I run into them. Thanks! It took 3 months because it's not a big shop(kinda a mom & pop shop but they do have 2 shops) & they only have one highend guy(talented in my opinion) that does custom work so almost everything is done by one person. He only have a helper when someone that only does wiring wants to stay late to learn how to do custom work. The helper really doesn't do much except for helping out on sanding( installer's favorite thing to do, hours & hours of sanding :D )

Here's one of his work that was done to his own car but he sold it to the shop to be a display inside the shop. This install was done in like year 2000.You can tell that it has some old equipment but it was top notch back in 2000.

This is a shop just like mine, I am the owner, salesperson, installer and trainer with one rookie right now and two full timers that are doing other jobs right now.

Yea, it sound pretty much like the same. The installer working on my car is the manager, sales person, installer(only does custom & only fills in on regular installs when it gets too busy). Hey Forbidden, you shop carry Audison right? I thought you own a big highend shop because you seems to have vast knowledge & in the business for a long while plus I think you said you carry Audison which is a rarity that most shops just don't have.

PS: Oh yeah, what we're some of the issues you mentioned ealier that you solved?

I had two shops until just last month but closed the one down. Finding people who can actually do the same job that you expect of yourself is just too hard to do. I am a small shop by any means, but if I were to be in a city of any major size, look out. I have vast knowledge because a specialty shop is just that, we are not here to sell meat and potatoes. We sell ice cream with sprinkles on it. Meaning we find what the customer needs, I do not allow commission sales as that is in the salespersons best interest and not the customers.

Yes I carry Audison, Focal, Eclipse, Macrom, Tru, Brax, DLS, Audio Control and a crapload of other lines, all of which I order as I need to. I am not going to act as a warehouse for any one company. Most of these lines are highly guarded, you must know your stuff in order to carry lines like this. I most certainly do, however there is something new to learn everyday.

Here's another mini update. Well it's finally almost done. It's pretty much in the hands of the bodyshop( they are really lagging) . Most of the pieces are sent out to the bodyshop already & the rest will be sent out on Monday. Wiring is pretty much all laid out & I'm finally able to pick up the car later today. Here's a picture of wiring & my titanium voltage monitor for my amp flush in the roof.

wow that's a lot of work, just curious, doesn't that much stuff add a ton of weight? I wonder if anyone has ever built an enclosure out of carbon fiber. I'm tossing around ideas for mine but I don't want to add a ton of weight so it will probably end up being something really small like a single sub going off of one amp etc.

Yea, it did add alot of weight to the car, probable at least 150+ lbs(2-30 lb subwoofers, about 5 dynamat extreme bulks, 3 titamium amps, fiberglass, duraglass, reinforced enclosures & other stuff) but the drive is still pretty smooth just probably sacrificed a little acceleration & handling. One thing about enclosures is that it have to be sturdy so I don't think carbon fiber by itself would be a good idea & it's probably hard to work with unlike fiberglass. You would probably have to reinforce the carbon fiber enclosure with stuff so it'll end up adding some decent weight.

well I'm sure it more than made up for whatever losses you had in cool factor and great sounds, maybe an entire enclosure out of CF wouldn't work, but it might be cool to integrate it in an overlay or something. Maybe it's just me, but I haven't seen anyone do that yet, it just seems like you could do something really slick looking utilizing a CF/fiberglass enclosure, heck, maybe I'll do that with mine Anyhoo, are you going to post pics of the completed work? I'd love to see how it all turned out, did you also replace the factory head unit etc.?

The factory headunit stayed but I got an Eclipse Avn5435 dvd/navi/cd unit with 5volt pre-out installed at where the stock navi would of been.I just got my car back on Saturday night. The car is not finished but it's driveable so I had to pick it up since I waited for 3 months already. All that is left is have all the custom pieces(about 16 of them) re-preped & painted by the bodyshop. My car is kinda look like it's striped, bottom half my door panel holding the midbass driver is gone, center console is removed, & rear deck is removed. It'll be another week before the bodyshop get it painted. They are laggers but are known to do good work. After it get painted, I gotta pick up my MS kit from a previous bodyshop that I got it painted from, it's sitting in their storage.
When it's all put back together, I post the pictures of the finished product.Volk wheels will be my next goal but I have to wait & reload my pockets before I puncture a hole in it. :D

I'm planning on competing in IASCA & USACI SoundQuality competitions because I just really like car audio & I'm just a car audio junkie . I will occationally put my car in import carshows to try to get some exposure to help me build up my portfolio to try to get some sponsors for my car's performance parts because I'm not going to dump much money on that unless I get a sponsor or until my warrenty is out.

Yea, i just can't wait until everything is put back together. The damn bodyshop is still lagging on painting the parts.I'll have to drop off the car when all the parts get painted & leave there a couple days to tune the whole system.

Well after a month of lagging from the bodyshop, they finally finish painting the parts & delivered it to the audio shop but......those f**kers after all that lagging did not do a great job on it.There's little details that are not acceptable even though you can't really see it unless you're very close to it or touch it to feel it.There's minor tiny spots that can be fixed by wetsanding & clearcoat but there's also minor blemishes on the end on some of the pieces. Well here are some pictures.Sorry I was in a hurry so the quality is not that great on some of the pictures. Some of the pieces will have to be re-painted but wont be by the same bodyshop. The red pieces are painted ferrari red, black pieces are brilliant black clear coat, & blue pieces are midnight blue pearl.

They took a whole month & it looks like they just rushed it & did everything on the same day & the rest of the month just sitting there until they finally got to it.They are a very busy bodyshop who does highend cars like ferrari, lambo,& etc so it's highly unacceptable. They were the same shop that the audio shop been using & for some reason this is the only time they screwed up & I guess they wont be used anymore also. They are not getting paid for the work though because they are dealing with the audio shop & the manager of the shop(my highend installer) is not paying them because they screwed up & not also willing to give back the parts for them to fix it. One thing was, my installer told them to take their time because he wants it done everything perfect but they still messed it up. Only the red pieces has the minor blemishes on the ends & has to be re-painted. The rest just has to be wetsanded & clearcoat over it. All in all, its me whos suffering from this & has to wait some more & drive around with a half striped interior car .
