Sirius *and* Ice>Link Plus?
Been trying to figure this out for a day now -- I am having the Sirius kit installed in my 2005 RX-8 Friday, but I've been reading here about the Ice>Link Plus for the iPod and I can't find the answer to one simple question:
Can you do both?
From the few pictures I've seen it looks like they both plug into the same jack on the back of the HU, but I haven't been able to find a picture of what the Sirius unit plugs into so I'm not sure. Anyone who can shed some light on this I'd appreciate it, as I'd rather not pay all that cash for the ILP just to return it.
Also ... when I bought my RX-8 the saleswoman and the delivery people at the dealership all had zero clue about this car, including the satellite option. I spent a good hour playing with the thing with the instructions they gave me before I came here and realized you have to buy an additional unit, at which point I made a slightly irate call to the dealership. Net net: receiver, antenna and installation for $200. So if you bought this under the impression that it was satellite enabled, NOT "satellite ready if you shell out another $500," call the dealer and complain, chances are they might hook you up.
Also, if nothing else, Mazda lists that part at $400 through the parts department, but I found it around $325 at Mazdaparts.com -- worth using as a negotiating tool to get down the price a bit.
