Sirius Antenna on Shinka

Sirius Antenna on Shinka
Does anybody know how Mazda attaches the Sirius XM antenna on the Shinka trunk lid? Considering getting a Shinka model but was wondering if I don't end up subscribing to the xm service can the antenna be removed safely if attached with doubled sided tape. Of course if bolted on then removal wouldn't be an option.
Thanks in advance for any help.

not sure, but i don't think its attached to the trunklid. i believe its someplace inside the car, but like i said, i'm not sure. also, if you get a shinka, it comes with a 1yr subscription to sirius, so i'd be silly to remove it, at least until after that year was up, at least IMO.

It's attached to the trunk lid, right up against the bottom of the rear window. I don't know how it's attached, but I suspect double-sided tape (it will move a little if you wiggle it).
Someone in another thread explained how to move it INSIDE the car as opposed to being outside. Essentially, detach it from the trunk, reroute the wire inside the car and set the antenna just inside the rear window (so it can still "see" the sattelite).

There are no holes. You can open the trunk and see that it doesn't go through

no need to put it on the truck nor the roof. I have had Sirius on my last two cars and currently have it on my present three cars. Have always had the antenna on the inside rear deck. Works perfect. On my 8 I have it coming up from the rear seat and then placed thru the rear seatbelt guider atop the seat. Just put the wire thru the cutout in the center of the plastic and no need to use sticky tape or anything. If you ever want to take it out, you can with no problem.
