Sore tail bone with cloth seats

Hello all,

Just wanted to share this with everyone. I've got the cloth interior (by choice) and the base of the back section has 2 metal framing bars that have very little, if any, padding covering them. With the seat lowered (6'-1" 220 lbs.), I was getting a bruise on my tail bone from pressing against the metal bars. Anyone else feeling my pain here? The leather seats may not have this problem.

The fix took about $1.50 and 10 minutes total time. Go to a hardware store and buy a piece of 1/2" pipe insulation. This would be the gray foam tube with a split up one side used to wrap pipes. Hop in the back seat and unzip the cover. disengage the lower flap and you will see the metal bars I'm talking about. Cut a piece of insulation about 13" long and slip it over the bars. Make sure the seam is facing the rear of the car to get maximum cushioning. It is pretty much locked in place, but you can tie-wrap it if you feel the need. Clip the flap and zip it up.

Presto! No more pain.
