I'm sorry I'm new here. I just got an 04 RX8 and have been trying to figure out which sound system I have. It is a bose system, it has controls for a 6-disk changer but doesn't have one, and it has a cassette player just below the cd slot. The dealer was surprised when he saw there was a tape player in it. I have been trying to find out more about the system so I can connect ipods and subs or things like that. I have been finding it difficult to find too much support on my particular system I think.

tape player, mp3 cd, 6 disc , and mini disc are options for the stock deck along with the sat radio in the later models, they had a ipod one to but hear it isnt that great compared with other options.

otherwise not sure what u mean what system, if it says bose you have the bose, you have a grill on the center of your dash for the center speaker along with rear tweeters the base 8 doesnt have.

 

all radios have CD changer controls.

 

Do the speaker grills have Bose logos on them?

If they don't, you have the stock system.

 

I don't think the '04 model had the Bose logo on the speaker grills.

 

Open trunk. Look underneath right where the rear speakers are. On the passenger side, there will be the Bose amp...... or not.

 

My Fiance (Pwinkie) has the 04 with bose - and the logo is on the tweeters but not the doors - and it has the center speaker - if the top center of your dash (near the windshield) has a speaker cover then you have bose.. if there isn't anything different then you don't

 

I have a Bose system! Thanks! Now to figure out how to add an amp and subs...:-)
