spare tire holder

when I look at a lot of pics of the trunks where people are putting their subs and stuff, Ihave to ask, what do you do with the spare tire?
I have that stupid spare tire holder which gets in the way of everything. I want it out, so I'm wondering where you guys are storing the tire - if you're keeping one with the car, at all.

Thanks.

I bought my car with the spare tire kit, and later decided it took too much trunk space, so now it sits in my garage. Hopefully I wont ever need it....

A while back, I read a post from a member who throws the spare tire in the trunk only when he's driving in an area where it might be hard to get a tow truck or cab. That seems like a good compromise. Besides, worst case scenario, you can always use that tire filler. Personally, I've had too many experiences with flat tires to feel comfortable driving around without a spare.

Ditched it into the corner of the garage the day I got the car home. Keep the tire pressures up and replace the tires when they get worn. Done 10,000 miles now, no worries.

I was going to get the spare until the dealer showed me another 8 that had one. I opted for no spare, but in this area I (hope) the roadside assistance thing will be there if/when I ever need it. (Knock on wood)

I still have the spare tire on the holder. I couldn't bring myself to go without a spare and haven't bothered to take it off the holder when just driving around town. Fortunately, I also have an Envoy XL so I drive that if I need the room. I've found that just about anything that won't fit in the trunk fits neatly in the back seat!

spare

I just can't see going without it. If I puncture a tire (and I know it will happen eventually) it seems like such an easy fix if a spare is there. If not, and the tire fix doesn't work, then I'd be waiting for a tow.
