I used 3/4" MDF, covered with 1/8" foam on both sides, to make my baffles. Took a little creativity to make it fit, but it works well.

I made mine from lexan, but these look nice and for the price they are a pretty good deal.
Note that no cutting required if you have the Bose speakers, but for the base stereo, I think you will have to trim the door panel a bit to get the speaker in place.

Wow! I didn't know anyone made ones like that! I'd buy those in a heartbeat. Much less work and I'm sure they're tough enough.

I guess this depends on the size of the speaker and the thickness of the adapter itself.
I mean, when I made my adapters out of lexan, I still had to trim my door panels ever so slighly, because the 6x8 hole was not quite big enough for the speaker to fit. The trimming was just about a quarter inch on the upper and lower edge, so it wasn't a big deal.
If the speaker basket is smaller than mine (or a 5 1/4 speaker is used instead of the 6 1/2), this may be a non-issue. Also, this bracket appears to be thicker than the lexan I used, so that would also help in the fitment because the rear of the speaker will then fit in a smaller hole, due to it tapering toward the rear.

Those look to me to be brackets for the Bose 9" speakers. You 6x8's non-Bosers should already have some options from Metra or Scosche.

as he said these are for the bose system, a small 6.5 would fit with this adapter http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...sche+SA68.html for the base stereo

Guess I should have quoted Tamas, as it was directed at him.

I'm just noting that clearance issues may/may not be similar in Bose/non-Bose RX8s.

And go figure I mentioned Scosche in my post...
