Speakers dim after swap
The radio in my 04 RX8 burned out and I got the radio out of my friends RX that he wrecked. His RX8 had the bose system while mine just had the basic sound system. After installing his radio in my car the speakers are extremely low even when the volume is turned to max I can barely hear it over the exhaust.
Has anyone had this problem before? If so how do I fix it?

I know you're new here.... so I'll cut you some slack. Next time, please search the boards a little.
Yes. The Bose headunit outputs a low level signal to the Bose amp, which in turn, amplifies the sound and sends it out to the speakers. The non-Bose headunit sends out a high level amplified signal directly to the speakers. So the two headunits are not interchangeable.
You can hunt down a non-bose headunit, but I would advise just going aftermarket. No reason to spend ~$150+ on another 4+ year old headunit.
